Behind The Song
I wrote this song about my middle school and high school years. Around 2008 was a sweet time in my life. As much as I hated school, I had an amazing core group of friends and we were always hanging out and doing stuff. I used to go to Cape Cod every summer with a group of friends for a week. Before anyone had jobs, responsibilities or anything to worry about, we would just hang out, go to the beach, talk about what on earth we’re going to do with our futures and kid stuff. It’s funny how when you’re young you never seem to notice the moments you’re going to look back on as some of the best times of your life. You also never know when you’ll eventually see some of your friends for the last time. To quote Ferris Bueller “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” It’s sad to think about, I don't even talk to half of my friends I used to have back then. So this is a sentimental song to me, it's about a time in my childhood that I miss dearly, and wish I could relive. My younger years were certainly some of the best times of my life. Tell your friends and family you love and appreciate them, you never know when it’s gonna be the last time you see them.
